Stateland Cafe X CreaTeaf Waffle X PARK Cafe X Last Friday

With the cafe industry thriving, i don't think i can ever finish my list of cafes to go. Whenever i strike one off the list, i add another 2 more. Haha I have no idea why i love food so much. I should have been a food critic or food blogger if not for my lack of vocabulary.

How to describe food? I remember back in secondary school days, my first 2 paragraphs were always very long and filled with descriptive words to describe the weather hahahahaha. I was quite good in describing weathers (note: was).

Oops i digressed. First up, Stateland Cafe

Eggs Benny & B's Stateland Big Breakfast.

When i order eggs benny, i'm quite particular about the poached eggs. It has to be just right and cannot be overcooked! Their version is not bad. I'm not sure what the green thing they placed on top is but it gives a refreshing taste and the tomato puree also goes well with the dish.

B isn't too fond of his mains though.

The sole reason for our visit was to taste the red velvet waffle. Just a fact (or 2), my favourite cupcake and cake flavour is red velvet and my favourite macaron flavour is rose.

Do yourself a HUGE favour and remember NOT to order this. This waffle is revolting. It's tasteless and the texture of the waffle is dry. I like waffles a little crispy on the outside but soft and fluffy on the inside. Stateland's red velvet waffle is neither of them and it really is just empty and hollow inside. I would have forgiven it if it is nice on the palate but unfortunately, it's pretty blend and tasteless.

Pretty disappointing i would say.

2. CreaTeaf Waffle

I never really took notice of this small little waffle shop tucked in a corner at The Cathay even though B mentioned that he wanted to try, i sort of just brushed it off haha. We just finished a movie when he suggested to try it again and i finally acquiesced.

I ordered matcha milkshake which is pretty alright and he got a hazelnut milkshake for himself. It has won me over just by looking at the presentation. I got excited just by looking at banana with chocolate sauce :p Their waffle is definitely better than Stateland's.

3. PARK @ Holland Village

Truffle fries. Pretty meh i would say.

I didn't order anything since i ate something before i met B.

"It's definitely better than Stateland's." He said. Lol

-End of cafe review-

Moving on to last friday, i had Pizza Hut for lunch with my colleagues. Eh... i was never a huge fan of Pizza Hut actually. I used to go there all the time when i was in HSCS because of the student promo but i only order their baked pasta/rice. The only food i like from PH is the hot and spicy drumlets.

 Tried the X-men pizza...

Lol both also quite mediocre lah. As usual, i don't find them particularly tasty.

4 out of 9

Met B after my work! I texted him at 5pm and said that i wanted to get a new earpiece cos my Razer one (which my group won for our group project) spoiled. It has served me well for 1.5 to 2 years. I'm not very particular about my earpiece as long as it's not shitty but I wanted a better earpiece now so that it would last longer. B knows so much more about earpiece as compared to any of my friends, so of course i dragged him along to help me out.

My budget was about $150 which was quite low to B (his is about $200+ i think) but i would much rather spend the $150 on clothes, bags, shoes or even cosmetics.

In the end i got this Beyerdynamic one which is retailing at $198 but i got a discount! So i spent about $140 on this. If this dies on me in 2 years time, i'll be damn mad!

Lol mouth damn big

Rearranged and put up new instax on my wall! Hehe. This is my favourite wall in the whole house, if this makes any sense.

Woah 2 cafes! Great review, thanks for sharing. Makes me want to visit the place too. There is this map called CafeSG that lets you find all the local cafes in Singapore! Super useful for cafe hopping and to discover new cafes near home and workplace.

Hope to see more reviews from you
