Gold Coast #1

I'm finally back from my long trip to Gold Coast and frankly speaking, 10 days wasn't enough for us because about 2 days were spent on the plane. Initially I thought it would be too long a stay in Gold Coast but I love everything there and i wished i could be there right now :( I was so grumpy to be back in Sunny Singapore....

Anyway, here's day 1. We only touched down at 2am that day and by the time we drove our rented 12 seater van from the airport to our Villa, it was about 4-5am.

Airport OOTD

Off to +61 for 10 days!

Had red wine in the plane and it sucks lol.

After 7 hours, we finally reached Brisbane Airport! It was such a painful flight because my butt hurts from sitting down that long -_-

I watched Pacific Rim and The Heat in the plane!

Drove our rented van to pump petrol. Wanted to go in to see what could we buy but it was closed. We were only allowed to make payment at the "drive through" counter.

In Gold Coast (maybe Australia), the sun rises at about 4.30 to 5 in the morning. We were so excited to check out our Villa when we arrived. We walked to the back of it to the small jetty and was greeted by ducks, some seagulls and pelicans :O

It was so...amazing. Daniel, June and sometimes myself, went to feed the ducks almost everyday. This "lake" actually leads out to the sea if you go further up.

Took a short nap and woke up at about 10ish to 11 in the morning to start our exploration! Hehe i was so excited the whole time to explore this beautiful state.

First, this is the front view of our beautiful villa.

June and Alex

We drove out to Carrara Market to have breakfast and to check out their weekend market.

Lol. This was an awkward photo. I was just standing there, looking around when Jesscy asked for a photo. so i just turned and smiled.

Our AU$10 big breakfast. Look at the bacon....so freaking thick lol.

After breakfast, we walked around the market. There wasn't much shopping to be done actually but they have animals and ponies which attracted me the most!

I looked like crap here....... But i'm just going to post it for memory sake.

8 weeks old little lamb hehehe. So freaking cute.

Daniel, June and i wandered off to get some Churros. Look at that goodness. We had a mix of chocolate and caramel sauce and i tell you.... the caramel sauce is da bomb. You know how in Singapore the caramel sauce is thick and super sweet? Their sauce is thick too but the sweetness is just nice. Not too overpowering and doesn't make you feel like you will get diabetes after consuming it.

Blogging about it makes me want it so badly now :(

I will always love you.

I think we drove out to Aldi (a supermarket) to get some basic necessities for our next few days. We also bought lots of drinks, snacks and food. Haha

YOU WILL NEVER BELIEVE HOW CHEAP EVERYTHING IS.... This makes me slightly ashamed of Singapore's supermarkets. 5 super thick beef steaks cost about AU$15, a really huge box of salad which we ate over 3-4 days cost only AU$6, a big box of minced meat and ginormous mushrooms are about AU$5 each. Their freaking bacon, super thick, only cost AU$5.99 for such a big box!!!!

I stood there in disbelief.... then Jesscy said, "Now you know why everyone is so big sized here."

We went back to put down all the groceries before heading to Surfers Paradise for dinner! We wanted to go to their beach but it was closed at night for their Schoolies party. It's like a super hyped-up graduation party. Everyone was so happy and it was just so awesome to be immersed in their energy there. There were also lots of handsome boys and pretty girls hehe.

Gold coast is warm by day (24-26 degree) and cooling by night (around 14-17 degree i think). So when the sun sets, we were all freezing. I say the weather was perfect because the breeze is cooling so even when the sun is out, you almost never perspire at all.

Had burger for dinner at a random restaurant.

The shops close at about 5-6pm in Gold Coast so it was kinda hard to get shopping done. Some restaurants and cafes close as early as 8pm. Hence we resided back to our Villa and watched a movie together at our "cinema" room.

We went to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary on day 2 and it was so much fun! Hehe gonna blog about it another day. I'll be flying off to Bangkok tomorrow with my girlfriends ~ Can't wait :D
