First of all, Happy Lunar New Year! I hope it has been great for all of you so far! :)
Couldn't believe i was back in Hong Kong after about 10 months (click to see my last trip to HK) because well... it is not exactly my favourite country to visit BUT i still had a relatively great time there. The company you go with really matters. It matters a lot, in fact. This time, i went with 2 of my closer colleagues, Daniel & June. I was just thinking how amazing this was because i've only known them for 6-7 months and we've already traveled to 2 countries together - Gold Coast and Hong Kong.
We scooted to Hong Kong at about 2am and arrived at Changi Airport way too early to check in haha. Kiasu Singaporeans are kiasu.
I'm not sure if you notice but i dyed my hair. Will show you more about it along the way.
We were lucky because we got the seats with bigger leg space. I totally need it because i have long legs hehe. But we weren't so lucky on the way back to Singapore.
I was so tired that i slept throughout the flight
and finally, we have reached our destination!
This is probably the last photo of Daniel because he didn't want to take photo -_-
Breakkie for Day 1 and this is kinda meh.
We stayed at Mongkok, just a stone throw away from Arygle Centre so it's really convenient. We walked to most places in fact. So we headed to Langham Place because i wanted to go to Monki. My must-go-shop when i'm in HK.
This time they had more basics, which were on sale, and long sleeves since HK was cold when we were there. Did i mention that it's about 14 degrees on average? So i didn't get a lot of stuff. I bought a few basics though since they were comfortable and pocket friendly. The basics i bought ranged from HKD$20 - HKD$60 if i'm not wrong.
Wanted to get this super cute beanie for HKD$80 but didn't in the end because i figured i wouldn't wear them. But it's ultra cute?!
We went for lunch after that at a random HK Cafe and food was good!
Red Bean Milk. Super yums
Chicken Chop
This totally made up for my substandard breakfast haha. I love the chicken chop because it was so well marinated. In fact, we all agreed that it tasted better on its own, without the sauce.
As we walked along the buzzling streets, we were drawn into all the street food. It was impossible to ignore because no matter where we walked to, the stretch of food stalls never ends.
We caved in eventually haha.
Resided back to our humble place to stay for the next few nights, changed into something warmer and left to explore the city again. Remember the commercial that says HK is a place to 买东西吃东西买东西吃东西? That was exactly what we did there. For 5 whole days. And my 买东西 refers to food, not so much on clothes.
We walked passed 八方雲集 and both of them said they had it in Taiwan and it was damn good. So yup, more food haha.
That's about it for day 1. Since we were just walking around and eating most of the time, i didn't take much photos. If you see me and wonder why am i chubbier, now you know :'(
