Day 10: Tamsui (淡水) & Day 11 (Last day)

Day 10

The rest went to watch a movie in the morning so ying and i had breakfast on our own. It's quite funny how my friends (& their friends) asked us whether all 6 of us were really traveling together because 80% of the time my snapchat + video only have ying and me inside hahaha. But no guys, we went in a group of 6. Just that sometimes we wanted to do different things hahaha.

Sunglasses: Ray-ban (Ying's cos i left mine in my luggage)

Lol this girl wore her beanie every single day. Even on days that were not cold.

The weather was so fine that day hehe. The sun was out but the temperature was at a very comfortable level of 23°C. I decided to wear a stick-on bra that day because i lazy wear a strapless bra and it stuck on super well hahahaha because i didn't even perspire. How awesome. I miss the weather...

When we were chilling in our apartment last night, i decided that we needed to eat beef noodles because we haven't had it so i googled some kickass beef noodles and found one near our apartment! Ok, it wasn't super near - around 20min walk or so. But i like some walking in a foreign place so we went ahead with it. And boy, was i glad to have found this place. THIS BEEF NOODLES IS THE BOMB.

If you stay near ximending, do yourself a huge favour and eat the beef noodles at 桃源街牛肉面. It wasn't cheap. One bowl was NT220 (SGD$10) but it was really good. I know it's expensive but they weren't stingy with the beef (look at the huge chunks of beef) and it was a big bowl. Both of us were already full halfway through the meal but we still polished the whole bowl because it was too good. The beef was so soft, tender and flavourful. It had a melt-in-your-mouth kinda texture. The broth was delicious. You can also add salted vegetables into your bowl and trust me, it was so tasty with or without the salted vegetable.

Oh, and you definitely have to queue for this. The queue may seem a little intimidating but it moved rather quickly so we got a table within 15 to 20mins. You can watch my video to check out the queue.

After that, we met up with the rest at Tamsui aka 淡水.

Headed to beitou aka 北投 for hot spring again. This time we booked a private room at Marshal Zen Garden 少帥禪園. It was only NT1200 for a couple for an hour. So that was only about SGD$27 per pax.

It was time to hit the club again~~~ Since it was our last night here, Daph and Javier joined us. We wanted to go back to Lava initially but changed our mind since Babe18 was nearby so why not try it. And i hereby declare, i do not like Babe18. It was soooooo crowded and the queuing system for the drinks kinda sucked.

LOL cui photo but this is the only pic i have of us in Babe18

Daph and javier even left halfway cos they buay tahan hahaha. We stayed slightly longer cos last night in TW already but it was kinda boring lah.

Day 11

The rest had a morning flight while ying and i were flying back around late afternoon instead so we sort of bided goodbye to them from our bed. The night before, ying suggested waking up early to eat the beef noodles again and i agreed enthusiastically. But when the morning came, i just snoozed my alarms all the way hahaha. We only got up around 11 in the morning and had to rush to shower, prepare and pack our luggage (check out at 12pm).

Had to give the beef noodles a miss cos we were lugging our luggage around so we headed to buy some Chia Te's bakery immediately. I actually spent close to SGD$100 there wtf. I didn't even think so much and just took whatever i wanted to buy for my family and close friends. After paying then i was like wtf did i just spend my money on? Hahahaha but the sun biscuits (太阳饼) and milk biscuits (牛奶酥) were so good so no regrets.

Lunch was at the Japanese Restaurant call Yayoi, just a few shops away from Chia Te. I suggested eating there cos there was a long queue when we walked past it haha #typicalsingaporean.

I've been eating so much over there it's not even funny. My appetite also grew so big omg. A week or two after i came back, i was constantly hungry every 2-3 hours LOL.

Taiwan, you're greatly missed by me. Such a great country with good food at affordable pricing and some of the most polite people i've ever met.

Day 8: 士林夜市 & Day 9: Wufenpu (五分埔)

Day 8

Started day 8 with 永和豆浆. It was about 10 to 15min walk from our apartment. The place was really small and only had 4-5 tables if i'm not wrong so if you wanna dine in, you probably have to wait for a while. We were quite lucky though, only waited for a while before the staff brought us to our table.

I only took picture of the carrot cake haha. As the day progressed, i got lazier so.... i don't have many photos and videos for the remaining days hahaha. Anyway, the carrot cake was quite nice and i like their soybean milk.

We actually planned to go lefoo amusement park that day but it was raining again and after googling, we realised that it was really out of the way and will probably take us 1.5 hour to get there. So we ditched the plan and since we didn't have backup plan for that day, the group went separate ways again.

Cafe.Waiting.Love aka 等一個人咖啡 to chill. Ying kept pestering to go to this cafe so i only went to make her happy hahaha but i think their waffle was not bad although I don't fancy the blueberry sauce.

After that, we both needed to take a dump haha. It was so shiok because we ate a lot of nonsense everyday so every opportunity to shit was a blessing. So happy that i pooped almost everyday there hehehe am i weird being so happy about it or what lol

Don't know what i was thinking hahaha

And that was the day we kept trying clothes haha. To the extent that i was so sick of it. Bought some clothes from Zara and Pull & Bear ^^

We have Godiva ice cream in SG but i was never tempted to try it. Go overseas then backside itchy wanna try lol. It was cheaper than SG anyway, about $6. Something about eating ice cream in the cold makes it very comforting.

Met our friends again to go Shilin night market aka 士林夜市. I didn't take pictures cos night market all look the same and shilin was so crowded omg. Tbh, i prefer xmd night market because lesser crowd and they have better food.

But i've finally tried coffin bread aka 棺材板! This was so good but so fattening omg. It's basically fried toast with a lot of ingredients inside. The toast was deep-fried to perfection i can't even. 10/10

Left shilin around 8-ish to go back and wash up because we are going to Club Lava hehe. Officially my favourite club to go in Taipei out of the 3 clubs we went.

I've so many stories to share but i don't think it's very appropriate to talk about it here lol. Just know that clubbing in Taiwan is generally quite happening. Poor ying even dropped her phone into the toilet bowl.

Day 9

Day 9 fell on 31st dec so our plan was wufenpu (五分埔) > Raohe night market (饒河夜市) > countdown at 向山. We had our lunch at Formosa Chang Lu Rou Fan (鬍鬚張魯肉飯) before heading to wufenpu to shop.

I generally like 魯肉飯 so needless to say, i've enjoyed my meal. Their soups were also very tasty so y'all can give it a try if you go there.

Met up with the 2 guys again to shop at wufenpu but we didn't get a single shit haha. Oh, i bought 3 pairs of socks. That's about it. Since it was cold there, all the clothes they were selling weren't suitable for SG weather. I wanted to get denim shorts but somehow their denim shorts were so expensive. Like around NT900 (SGD$40). No way am i paying $40 for a brandless pair of shorts. The previous day i actually bought a pair from Pull and Bear and it was cheaper than wufenpu's. What even... lol.

Went over to 饒河夜市 for dinner. As usual, we ate a lot of street food. We were just roaming around when i finally came across a stall selling sesame noodles aka 麻醬麵 ! Ying and i were curious about it because it was like an under-the-radar dish and we only knew about it after watching Our Times.

We only ate half cos it got quite jelat towards the end

Like i said just now, we wanted to go 向山 to countdown because we can see fireworks from there but we heard that it would be very crowded, like any other area, so we have to go there really early to get a good view. Since it was new year's eve, it was hard to get around by car because of roadblocks too. In the end, we ditched the plan and decided to countdown at ximending instead.

Went back to our apartment to chill for a while before counting down at the bar area in the front of our apartment. To our surprise, it was a gay countdown party hahahahaha. We were wondering how come the ratio of guys:girls was 9:1 as we pushed our way through the crowd. Shortly after, we realized we were at the gay countdown party instead lol but whatever.

The rest was thinking of heading to a club after that but there isn't one near our area. In the end, we decided not to since we gonna club the next day so we headed back to our apartment to watch tv and chill the first day of 2016 away haha.
