(This is a mini food hunt post!)
So i had lunch on the 8th with Bryan's family. I was too dressed up for it because the initial plan was to have a birthday dinner with Bryan (my birthday was on the 9th) and he asked me to wear nice for the occasion. However, we changed plans and decided to watch the Conjuring together with his family after that. Lunch was at Spathe and the food was damn good! I really recommend this place especially if you come in big groups cos they have big portions just for sharing!
Spanish Seafood Paella - Individual portion
I-forgot-the-name - Individual portion
Tune Poke (this is damn good!!!) - Individual portion
Fried Chicken on a waffle (Yumz and it's quite unique) - Individual portion
Octopus Salad (fucking good salad and the octopus are damn fresh. Craving for this now ) - Mammoth portion
My favourite boy holding the Meter Dog (which is a meter long, duh) - Mammoth portion
ARE YOU SALIVATING ALREADY? Because i am.
Carrot cake (LOVE THIS), Lemon meringue tart and white chocolate something.
The food there really blew me away. We had 7 people there and we finished everything. I really want to go back there to eat again. After our lunch, Bryan, his parents and I were praising the food saying how yummy and how worth it it was. I'm not even a huge fan of carrot cake even though i eat them occasionally but their carrot cake.... it's the best i tell you, seriously!
I can't wait to go back there again, perhaps with the usuals when jg books out!
Then on one occasion, Bryan and i went to Jamie's Italian to eat! We've been wanting to eat there ever since we heard Jamie Oliver was gonna open a restaurant there.
LOL. Retarded boy.
I actually sort of researched online first to see what is good and this was recommended so we ordered this and it certainly didn't disappoint. It's the crispy squid! If you love the taste of garlic then you will love this. Bryan and i love it!
My only complain was the portion. Haha for the price we paid, it was barely enough.
Lamb Chop Lollipop
We also asked the waitress for some recommendations and this was in the list. If you just eat the lamp chop like that, it's a bit on the blend side but fortunately there's a green sauce that was hidden by the presentation of the lamb chop.
I guess it's a bit over hyped because it's quite normal.
Seafood Bucatini
I couldn't remember where or who recommended this but anyw the portion was quite little too. Meh. As for the taste wise, it was... ok? Bryan and i love the broth though, or the sauce you call it. Other than the broth, it just fell flat. But i have to say i like the fact that the spaghetti is hand made daily and also they are damn thick! I love eating thick noodles like ban mian, mee hoon kway, mee pok etc.
And it was time for desserts!
My must order tiramisu!
Whenever we order desserts, i will definitely choose tiramisu and Bryan will definitely choose bread and butter pudding. It's like our must have desserts.
Their tiramisu was damn good! We finished every single bit and polished the plate clean haha. There was a bit of subtle orange taste which made it slightly refreshing and less heavy.
Bread & butter pudding wasn't on the menu so he ordered lemon meringue cake.
This wasn't too bad too. The brown thing sticking out were honeycomb biscuits. It was a little too hard and too sweet but nonetheless, we were happy with the desserts!
The bill came up to be slightly over $100 with a starter, 2 mains and 2 desserts. Seems quite ok i guess, especially for Jamie Oliver's restaurant.
One last food place to recommend is Pita Pan! It's located at Marina Square and according to them they serve healthy(ier) food with their tagline being "A pocket full of health". Frankly speaking i'm not sure if it's really healthy because they have french fries....and fried falafel ball. Lol.
If you're vegetarian, here's one more place you can go!
This was so goooooood? I mean i only paid $12ish for this and it was so filling that I only ate 1/4 of the fries. Apparently you can choose anything you want in the salad bar to put in your pita pocket, as long as it can fit. So i had loads of goodness inside haha.
I told Bryan this is one of my favourite fast food place already. They need to open one branch near my house!
Anyw, this is the end of my mini food post. The 3 places featured here are really worth going, maybe except the second one haha. But still, Bryan said he wanna go back to JI to try other food. The next time, we will do a more thorough research. If you have any good food places to recommend, please let me know!
