As promised i'm here to blog about Bryan's birthday. I started planning like a month plus before his birthday, that was like in September. Sometimes when i stoned at work, i would start thinking of what to do, where to go, what to buy. Then i will start to research and list down all the options i have for - Activities, Present, Restaurants.
My main focus was the food first because he loves to eat and eating good quality food is extremely important to him. Actually for me, i think the activity is more important because i'm someone who gets bored quite easily so i want to do something engaging for both of us as i don't want to bore him and of course myself on that day. When i get bored, i get grumpy too. Lol. Anyw I can safely say i know him inside out because i know he loves what i planned for him. Hehe.
What's a birthday without a birthday cake right? I didn't want to get those "common" cake flavours and decided to try Sadie Rose. It's a home/online based "bakery" and i did my homework. Ordered a lemon yogurt cake for his birthday. I forgot to take a photo of the birthday cake :( But it was quite worth the money. $36 for 8" which is their smallest size. It's too big for 2 of us obviously, so i decided to go to his house on the night of 26th Oct, and surprise him at 12am. His birthday is on 27th Oct. I liaised with his parents and surprised him successfully!
(Photos for the surprise are with his dad. Waiting for him to email me!)
I also stayed over for the night since it was late alrd. Another reason was because i can pack his bag for him without him knowing what's going on. I wanted to put the bag into my big bag BUT he saw me meddling with his bag and tried to open it. So i had no choice but to tell him that it was part of the plan and he cannot open it until i say so.
"Bring hair wax."
"Need to bring clothes?"
"Nope"
"WE ARE TAKING REVERSE BUNGEE RIGHT?"
"Huh...no?"
"Yes we are! Or else why must i bring hair wax?"
This conversation took place about 4-6 times. I don't know why he kept thinking we were going to play the reverse bungee? I've never ever thought about it cos this will only last us for 5mins (or less) so it wasn't in my consideration at all.
The activity i planned was.....
WAVEHOUSE SENTOSA.
I was damn excited because i know both of us will love this and true enough, we do. I remembered he told me that he wanted to try out flowriding someday and i told him, we would, and we did. I wanted to take photos but we would be wet and idk where to put the camera after that so i kept it in the locker. It was our first time and the 2 different "instructors" said i did pretty well for first timers! Hehe. Ego boost! We hung out along the beach until it was time to go.
The dinner place i picked was Prive Grill.
Silly boy told me i should have brought him to Prive Cafe instead cos it's cheaper but i told him he deserve the best and I felt that Prive Grill's food is more suitable for him. I wouldn't mind splurging once in a while on good food. Furthermore it was his big day.
Baked oysters for starters. THIS IS DAMN GOOD. We ordered baked ones cos i don't eat raw oysters.
My New Zealand grass-fed savannah steak with rosemary and wine sauce.
His delectable Kurobuta Pork.
Lovely staffs from Prive prepared a cake, a card and also a brownie (packed) for him.
We also ordered another dessert - Raspberry Soufflé. I WILL NEVER EXCHANGE THIS DESSERT FOR ANYTHING. This is fucking awesome!
His brownie in a bag, wrapped up as a present.
The day i had been worrying was finally over and i'm really happy that he enjoyed his birthday a lot. He couldn't stop telling me how perfect it was. Hahahaha maybe he was trying to make me happy. Y'know when you planned something and it turned out well and you feel accomplished and elated. That was what i felt ^^
xx
