Food hunt @ toa payoh

The boy and i just went for a food trip to Toa Payoh recently to hunt for all the good food! BUT i need to let y'all know that i'm no food blogger so all the details i gave here and my views on the food are what i think only. Don't compare me to food bloggers because i am not even one to begin with.

First stop: Soon Heng Rojak

Address: HDB hub Gourmet paradise food center

Ratings: 5/5

We queued for about 15 to 20 mins for and i'm glad to say that it was a good way to kick start this entire food trip. The ingredients were a lot, the sauce together with the peanuts is very fragrant. Normally i'd only eat the you tiao, cuttlefish and tao pok and usually it's very little, but the serving hwew is very generous. Definitely the best rojak i've ever tasted in my entire 19 years of living.

Second stop: Wheat Baumkuchen

Address: Block 190 Lorong 6 TPY #01-530

Rating: 2/5

I ordered the nutella flavour and BLKW ordered the oreo one. I feel that the nutella taste is not strong at all (it's just a hint of nutella) and the cake is just so so. Both of us didn't like it.

Third Stop: 93 Wu Xiang Xia Bing

Address: Block 93 Lorong 4 TPY #01-202

Rating: 4/5

They have a wide variety of choices so you'll be spoilt for choice just like me. I took the wu xiang and 2 other stuff which idk what is it but surprisingly everything taste so good. For those who like this kind of stuff i'd recommend it!

Forth stop: Wok Inn Fish & Chips

Address: Block 95 Lorong 4 TPY

Rating: 4/5

This is also one of the best fish and chips i've ever eaten in my life. The fish is fresh, tender yet crispy, the coleslaw is also very fresh and you could tell that it is made by hand (taste really different from KFC's). I really like the fish a lot. However, even though i'm a fan of potatoes, i don't fancy their fries. It's not crispy and not flavorful.

Fifth stop: Song kee fishball noodles

Address: Block 75 Food center #01- 354 Lorong 5 TPY

Rating: 2.5/5

This might be a bias view of mine because i am not a fan of fishball noodles. I eat fishball noodles but it was never my favourite. I feel that this fishball noodles is really normal, unlike those who said that it's very nice. I've eaten a few fishball noodles which i feel is much better than this. One of the unique point of this fishball noodles is that their fishballs are handmade. They give you handmade "meatballs" as well.

Sixth stop: Ah Chuan Fried Oyster Omelette

Address: TPY Lorong 7 Food center #01-25

Rating: 3.5/5

I thought this is not bad. However you have to wait for about 30mins to be served. The only downside of it is that you get very little oysters in it. I ordered the smallest serving, $4, and only have about 4-5 small oysters. The husband is the one cooking and the wife is the one serving. I've always thought family business serves good food :)

Seventh Stop (Last stop): Dove Desserts

Address: Same as Ah chuan fried oyster omelette, 2 stalls away from it.

Rating: 3.5/5

Be sure to order their chendol because they are famous for it. Unfortunately when we went there, their chendol was sold out so we had something else. I thought what we both ordered were pretty average too. Probably because we didn't get to try their famous chendol.

Okay that's pretty much about it. For the entire day, the boy and i were like...........

Eat eat eat eat eat non-stop :(

I'm sorry cos i don't know how to critic food. hahahaha so pardon me for the very average and so so "critic". I will work on it cos the boy and i had decided to go for a food trip and different location (eg, amk, bedok, hougang) once every 2-3 months. Hehe i didn't know tpy has so many nice food! I miss the rojak, fish and chips and wu xiang alrd.
